Put your attention on what
is good! Put your attention on the glass half full.
Spend time each day in gratitude for what is good in
your life. It may only be one or two things right now.
Amp up the attention you give those things. Put all of
your attention and focus on what IS working and the good
in your life and I promise you it will create more of
the same. Truly, you get what you focus on.
So let’s practice an
exercise
Let’s put this concept into
action and play an Abundance Game. For the entire week
take out a piece of paper that will go everywhere with
you. Put yourself “on notice” that you are going to LOOK
for everything that is good and that you can be happy
about or grateful for each day. You are going to keep a
running list and continue to grow it as more and more
things come into your awareness. See if each day you can
find more things to be grateful for than you did the
previous day. Set a goal for the 7th day of this week
that you will find the most things you’ve ever found to
be grateful for. Then, at the end of the week, give
yourself some kind of prize!
You know how when you buy a
certain type of car, all of a sudden you see many more
of the same model of car on the road? That’s because you
have brought focus to that model of car. It works the
same with our minds. When we give ourselves the
directive of what to look for, we find it!
This isn’t so far off from
the idea of self-fulfilling prophecy. If you look for
the good and excellence in yourself or others you most
certainly find it. Unfortunately, the reverse is also
true. Where would you rather look?
