Telephone Service -- Internet Telephony
First, we recommend that clients use Skype-brand Internet telephony
for our calls (when possible) -- and for all
other calls you make (and even file transfers with large
amounts of data, like photographs or videos your email can't
easily handle). First, it's free. Second, the sound
quality is far superior to cell phones and even land lines!
Our sessions can be MUCH more effective and pleasant with
high-quality sound.
Skype explains the improved sound quality this way:
with normal telephones you can only hear sounds from 300 Hz
to 3 kHz. Not so with Skype; We’re all over the spectrum,
from the lowest hum to the highest screech. In other words:
‘F’ and ‘S’ will sound like the two different letters they
were meant to be, and in the end you will be able to have a
much more natural conversation.
In order to use Skype software, your
computer must meet the following minimum system
requirements:
* PC running Windows 2000 or XP or Macintosh computer with
G3, G4 or G5 processor and Mac OS X v10.3 (Panther) or newer
* 400 MHz processor
* 128 MB RAM
* 15 MB free disk space on your hard drive
* Sound Card, speakers and microphone
* Internet Connection (either dial-up: minimum 33.6 Kbps
modem, or any broadband: cable, DSL, etc.)

Instant Messaging Communications
For your use in reaching your coach
quickly and efficiently, IM is free, fast, and has the
advantage over email of real-time, give-and-take
communication. The applications load quickly. If
you already have a Yahoo or MSN email address, you may wish
to choose the corresponding IM product in order to keep the
same username. Once you have downloaded your IM software and
chosen a username, contact your coach (see below) via email
or IM to let him know. Finally, if you want to IM a coach,
we suggest emailing him first to alert him that he needs to
start up his IM; we don't have the application running at
all times . . .
Yahoo Instant Messenger: Get Yahoo! Messenger.
After you've downloaded the application, open it up.
On the menu at the top, choose "Contacts" and then "Add a
Contact." Then type in the IM address of your coach,
below.

If you use Microsoft Outlook for your Contacts, we recommend
downloading the V-card of your coach for your reference, as
well as for easy copying and forwarding to referrals. To
download, left-click on the V-card icon and choose "Save".
Save the card to a folder where you can find it. Then return
to that folder, left-click on the icon and hold down the
click to drag it into your Outlook Contacts. You can
also right-click any V-card to forward it to yourself
by email. Then drag it from your Outlook email into
Contacts.
