Feroce's
Leadership
Coaches, led by Feroce founder Cameron Powell, offer
leadership development and leadership seminars
for business teams, small businesses, and
executives. Our leadership
training programs work on
teaching the skills and attitudes of leadership to
management as well as to high-potential employees.
Closing the
Gap: true leaders strive to be inhabit their real
selves at work, employing the same values and ethics they
purport to believe in while away from
work.

At Feroce, our leadership coaches coach and train on
Authentic Leadership.
Leadership
Arises from Authentic Intent, Not "Tips and Tricks"
While the
black-and-whiteness of the distinction between managing
and leading is sometimes overstated, it may also be true
that, to the extent leadership is founded on character
and intent, not all leadership skills can be taught so
as to translate directly into action. You should run
from any leadership seminar or training program that
blithely promises all executives will become stellar
leaders in every respect.
What is possible
and realistic, however, is that any executive (like any
person, because ultimately we don’t
coach executives,
just people) can develop forms of mindfulness and
awareness that make her more generous and authentic and
at ease, and less reactionary and insecure. One metric
of successful training is to distinguish her behavior
and effectiveness from the awareness of self and others
that may have characterized her conduct before any
leadership training.
At Feroce we
stress the important character traits, attitudes, and
intent that underlie both good management and good
leadership. And because there is no such thing as a
“business” skill that is not already and even primarily
a personal skill or character trait, at Feroce we don’t
pretend to deal merely with “business” attitudes and
behaviors. We wouldn’t even know how to separate them
from personal attitudes and human behaviors. As the
individual goes, so goes the executive. That’s why, in
our executive, business, and leadership development, we
emphasize:
• How and why to
listen to and understand one’s self and others,
including:
o Conveying feedback
to others (colleagues, customers, employees)
sensitively and in good faith, with generosity and
empathy, and listening sincerely to the feedback
offered by others
o Trusting one's own
personal and business judgment, knowledge, and
resources and allowing others to do the same
o Accepting our
own and others’ innate creativity and what flows from
it
• How and why to be
authentic and honest with one’s self and
others
o Expressing our
reactions and motivations openly and honestly and
making it safe for others to do the same
• How and why to
foster the development of others as much as
ourselves
Our approach to
leadership coaching is founded on these very traits,
attitudes, and actions.
