Executive Coaching Team. And she's heard it
before . . .
Oh come on, you may wonder, whatever would a former
therapist know about leadership coaching and the hard
knocks of the managerial world, especially in the era of
downsizing, outsourcing, and the rest of the incredible demands on
leaders?
Having supervised for twenty years in non-profit and
corporate settings, I can tell you I have come through
some rugged experiences. I know what it is to lead
understaffed and demoralized teams in unrelenting, 24/7
stressful conditions with next-to-no-resources. I can
talk with you about the difference between real,
perceived leadership and being “the boss”.

I have walked
the delicate transition from working as a peer to
becoming a supervisor, without the support of anything
like leadership coaching. (The seat-of-the-pants method
is always a tough way to learn, isn’t it?!) I know the
nuts and bolts of building teams, especially under,
well, frankly dreadful conditions, and maximizing the
strengths of your staff. I know how lonely it can be to
want to do right, both by people above you and below you
on the organizational chart, when their needs are in
undeniable opposition.
Leadership coaching expertise I can offer includes:
• tools and tricks for hiring the right people and
orienting them for success
• turning around (or weeding out) staff with performance
problems
• gaining a reputation as a diplomat within your
organization; mastering tact, poise, and other
powerfully disarming negotiation skills!
• understanding and working with the principles of human
motivation and change, especially in performance
appraisals or giving difficult feedback
• how to model impeccable behavior to set the tone of
excellence for your team
• engaging staff in change efforts and developing team
cohesiveness
• using the diverse backgrounds of your staff for
everyone’s benefit
I would be delighted to have an opportunity to talk over
your concerns. Let’s see what ideas we can generate
together and how your career path may benefit from
leadership coaching services!
